APC Suspends Orji Kalu Less Than 24hrs To Presidential Election
The Senate Chief Whip and Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) less than 24 hours before the National Assembly election.
Through a letter announcing Kanu’s suspension, the ruling party made the development public.
According to GoldenNewsNg report, Kalu has been at odds with Abia APC leadership and members due to allegations that the former governor has been sabotaging the state party.
The former governor of Abia was suspended on February 21 for “acts of disobedience and gross anti-party activities,” according to the letter.
The Disciplinary Committee Chairman, Paul Nwabuisi, the State Secretary, Chief Chidi Avajah, and the State Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, all signed the letter, which also stated that Kalu, who has been at odds with numerous APC chieftains in Abia, “has remained unrepentant and without remorse despite several warnings.”
According to the APC, “thorough investigations and recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee established by the Igbere Ward A in Bende Local Government of Abia State” led to Kalu’s suspension.
In addition, the leadership of the APC in Abia stated that Kalu’s suspension was in accordance with APC Constitutional Article 21B(i-v), which he had violated.
In part, the letter read: The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended you.
