UNIJOS Announces 2025 Recruitment

The University of Jos has opened applications for its 2025 massive recruitment exercise. In a public notice, the management of the institution invited qualified applicants to submit applications for several academic and non-academic positions.

This exercise aims to fill vacant positions and strengthen the university’s workforce.

According to the official statement, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for massive recruitment to fill vacant positions in the University of Jos.

The positions available for recruitment are as follows:

a. Lecturer I
b. Lecturer II
c. Assistant Lecturer
d. Senior Lecturer
e. Reader
f. Technologist I
g. Technologist II
h. Nursing Officer
i. Nursing Superintendent
j. Pharmacy Technician
k. Laboratory Technologist II
l. Accountant I
m. Accountant II
n. Executive Officer (Accounts)
o. Store Officer
p. Administrative Officer I
q. Administrative Officer II
r. Confidential Secretary I
s. Confidential Secretary II
t. Higher Computer Operator
u. Executive Officer (Admin)
v. System Analyst
w. Librarian II

The management explained that these vacancies are spread across different faculties in the university. The faculties with open positions include:
a. Faculty of Agricultural Science
b. Faculty of Arts
c. Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
d. Faculty of Clinical Medical Sciences
e. Faculty of Computing
f. Faculty of Dental Science
g. Faculty of Education
h. Faculty of Engineering
i. Faculty of Environmental Sciences
j. Faculty of Health Science & Technology
k. Faculty of Law
l. Faculty of Management Sciences
m. Faculty of Natural Sciences
n. Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
o. Faculty of Social Sciences
p. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

General requirements:

1. Candidates must possess appropriate educational qualifications such as PhD, Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent in relevant fields depending on the position applied for.
2. Candidates must have post-qualification experience as required for each position.
3. Candidates must show ability to teach, conduct research, and contribute to the growth of the institution.
4. Candidates must have a reasonable number of publications in reputable journals where applicable.
5. Candidates must be registered or registrable with relevant professional bodies where necessary.
6. Candidates must have good communication and organizational skills.
7. Candidates must possess relevant certifications or licenses as required for the position.
8. Candidates must have evidence of completion or exemption from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) where applicable.
9. Candidates must meet the minimum work experience requirements for the respective roles.
10. Candidates must have basic computer knowledge and skills relevant to their roles.
11. Candidates must demonstrate integrity, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.
12. Candidates must possess a minimum of five credits, including English Language, in WAEC, NECO, or GCE where required.
13. Relevant professional or administrative experience will be an added advantage.

Interested applicants are to register and submit their application letter, curriculum vitae, and all required documents through the official recruitment portal at https://www.unijos.edu.ng/recruitment.

 

The curriculum vitae must include the following details:
i. name
ii. date and place of birth
iii. nationality
iv. state of origin
v. marital status
vi. educational institutions attended and qualifications obtained with dates
vii. work experience
viii. present post and salary
ix. mobile numbers and email
x. post applied for

 

Candidates should also provide the names and email addresses of three referees. At least two of the referees must be in a position to confirm the applicant’s professional or academic qualifications and character.

The university stated, “Candidates should request their referees to upload the confidential reports through an email they will receive from the University of Jos.”

Applications and referees’ reports must be submitted no later than six weeks from the date of this advertisement. The statement further emphasized that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview stage.

All required documents must be uploaded in PDF format. These documents include:

a. Signed application letter
b. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
c. NYSC Certificate (where applicable)
d. Certificates (O’Level, ND, NCE, HND, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD where applicable)
