The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has recommended that Assistant Superintendent of Police Drambi Vandi, the officer at the Ajah Divisional Headquarters of the Lagos State Police Command who was responsible for the shooting and death of Barrister Omobolanle Raheem, be immediately suspended while the incident is being investigated in greater detail.
Goldennewsng reports that the IGP noticed that the suggestion for the suspension of the official is in accordance with the inside disciplinary cycles of the Power.
The IGP added that it is also anticipated that the suspension will facilitate the necessary legal procedures to uphold the case’s justice without interfering.
The suspension, as per an assertion from Muyiwa Adejobi, force advertising official, is without bias to the sacred assumption of guiltlessness for the official.
In the meantime, the IGP has reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to the rule of law and reassured the public of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that justice in the case is not only carried out, but that it is clearly so.
