We refer to the Australia Army recruitment form as the entry point into the Australian Defence Force, and it’s no surprise that many individuals are eager to enlist.

Both native Australians and foreigners share this commendable aspiration of processing the Australian army recruitment form. To get started, you need to confirm if the recruitment process for the Australian Defence Forces is actively ongoing. Let’s clarify this in the following section.

Is the Australia Army Application Form for 2023 Out?

Absolutely! The application form to join the Australian Army is now available. You can access the form starting from Saturday, March 1, 2023, and the submission period closes on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Additionally, the recruitment process for the Australian Army will reopen on October 1, 2023, and conclude on May 30, 2024, the following year. It’s crucial to remember that applications submitted outside these specified periods will not be considered.

Who is Eligible to Join the Australian Defence Force?

The Australian Army welcomes applications from individuals who are current members of a foreign military service or have left the service within the last three years. To apply, you must also meet several criteria, including having at least five years of full-time military service, qualifications, abilities, and experience that can be directly transferred to the Army, and meeting the Army’s minimum academic and military educational standards. Moreover, you must be under 48 years old at the time of application and demonstrate proficiency in the English language (speaking, reading, writing, and listening) as defined by the International English Language Testing System.

To secure your spot, you must be recommended by a Selection Board following an interview, pass the ADF medical entry standard, and obtain an Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) Visa from the Department of Home Affairs. In addition, you and your accompanying family members must meet specific health and character requirements. You must also be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate level of ADF security clearance, have resigned from your current military service, and commit to becoming an Australian citizen.

Available Positions for the Ongoing Australia Army Recruitment

The Australian Army offers various positions categorized as “Officers” and “other ranks.” These positions have specific educational and training requirements:

  • General Service Officer (GSO): Requires a minimum level of education equivalent to an Australian Higher School Certificate (Year 12) and military commissioning training comparable to that offered by the Royal Military College – Duntroon.
  • Specialist Service Officer (SSO): Requires acquiring tertiary qualifications for your specific area of expertise and qualification for registration with the relevant Australian registration body/authority. You must also have completed a military commissioning level equivalent to the Specialist Service Officer course conducted at the Royal Military College – Duntroon.
  • Other Ranks (Soldiers): Require a level of education equivalent to an Australian Secondary School Certificate (Year 10) and basic military training at the 1st Recruit Training Battalion – Kapooka.

Australia Army Recruitment Application Process

The application process begins with providing your personal information, academic accomplishments, and any job preferences you might have. Recently, the process involved attending a Your Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) Session at a local Defence Force Recruiting Centre. However, due to the COVID-19 situation, this process is now conducted online and over the phone.

Upon completing your application, you’ll gain access to your Candidate Hub. Here, you’ll be required to complete your Supplementary Application Form, providing additional details about your education, work experience, interests, and other relevant experience to support your application. You’ll also need to upload important documents such as your driver’s license, citizenship documents (e.g., birth certificate and passport), and educational records. Additionally, you will receive an email containing a link to an online aptitude test, which is a crucial step in the application process.

For more detailed information on the application process, visit https://army.defencejobs.gov.au/joining-and-training/how-to-join/recruitment-process.
