Brendan Rodgers who’s currently the manager of Leicester city has revealed his decision on why he started the game with Kelechi Iheanacho in yesterday’s football match.
Goldennewsng reports that Iheanacho was handed a starting role by Rodgers for the first time this season.
The Nigeria international repaid his manager’s faith by putting his side ahead in the first minute.
The home team rallied back to win the game, with Iheanacho leaving the field for Jamie Vardy in the 72nd minute.
It was Iheanacho’s fourth league appearance of the season for the former Premier League champions.
“Exactly that – attack the game. We were thinking that they’ll probably play three at the back, so we got two strikers up against it and just had more attacking players on the field,” Rodgers said during his post-match conference.
