Call for Application : Lagos Agrithon 2025 (N150m Fund for Agripreneurs)

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, has launched Lagos Agrithon 2025, a competition designed to support agripreneurs and innovators with bold ideas shaping the future of food and agriculture.

The programme provides access to a ₦150 million funding pool for agribusiness startups to scale their solutions and make real impact in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Priority Areas

Applications are welcome for solutions in:

  1. Cold chain & storage solutions
  2. Climate-smart & sustainable farming practices
  3. Smart farming (hydroponics, aeroponics, greenhouse, precision agriculture)
  4. Waste-to-value & circular economy solutions
  5. Digital platforms, ag-finance & market linkage innovations
  6. Farm equipment design & local fabrication
  7. Innovative product development
  8. Any other breakthrough solutions improving efficiency, sustainability, or access in agriculture

Evaluation Criteria

  • Innovation – Creativity and uniqueness of the solution
  • Feasibility – Practicality in Nigeria’s agricultural context
  • Scalability – Potential to reach & impact many stakeholders
  • Supply Chain & Logistics – Storage, transport, distribution solutions
  • Sustainability – Contribution to sustainable agricultural practices
  • Market Viability – Clear business model & growth potential
  • Presentation – Confidence, clarity, and effective communication

Eligibility

  • Business must be 1+ years with evidence of MVP or sales
  • Founder aged 18–40 years
  • Open to startups, innovators, and teams in agribusiness or food systems
  • Must be based in Lagos or impacting Lagos agrifood systems
  • Must be registered with CAC & LASSRA
  • Must have an innovative solution tackling a key challenge

Application Deadline: 8th September 2025

Video Pitch Guidelines

Upload Format:

  • Max 2 minutes, Landscape, MP4

Your Pitch Should Include:

  1. Who you are & your company name
  2. The problem you’re solving
  3. Your solution (product or service)
  4. Why it matters (impact/market potential)
  5. Show your product or service clearly in the video

Guidelines:

  • Record in a quiet, well-lit, clean environment
  • Dress in business casual
  • Speak clearly & confidently
  • ❌ No PowerPoint or projection presentations

Submission Instructions:

  • Email to: agrinnovationclub@gmail.com
  • Subject line: (Your Business Name) – Video Pitch
  • Attach video file or share via Google Drive link

iv. Why it matters (impact / market potential)
