According to communique “the Niger state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN strongly condemn the act of forceful marriage of Christian underaged girls against their parents’ wishes using various guises in the state.

“We note with serious concern the increased cases of rape, sexual assault and pedophilia in our societies”.

Also, while calling on the State Government to ensure that CRS teachers are immediately and gainfully employed in all public schools within the state, the Association urged Parents to send their children and wards to study Christian Religious Studies in higher institutions.

The CAN further decried the use of ethnicity to divide the body of Christ and the promotion of same faith ticket to rule in a pluralistic society like Nigeria.
