CBN Governor, Emefiele Picks N100m APC Presidential Form
Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is said to have accepted the ruling All Progressives Congress’ presidential nomination and expression of interest form (APC).
On Friday, Emefiele was said to have picked up the N100 million forms from the party’s organising secretary at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
Peoples Gazette reported that Emefiele’s spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment, and the CBN governor himself declined to comment.
Emefiele’s purchase of the APC presidential nomination form puts to rest rumors that he is planning to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Report, the Delta-born banker is the first central bank governor to seek re-election while in office.
He now joins a long list of APC members ready to compete for the presidential nomination of the ruling party
