While Chelsea fans await confirmation of marquee signings in Kai Havertz and Ben Chill well, they’d have to make do with the signing of Xavier Mbuyamba on a free transfer from Barcelona.
He’s only 18 and a 6’5 right sided centre back. He’s an U-19 Netherland international whose physical frame and playing style is very much identical to Virgil Van Dijk.
Xavier Mbuyamba has signed for Chelsea in a deal that runs till 2023. Although a relatively unknown name, his comparisons with arguably the best Centre bank in the premier league is tingling to Chelsea fans whose defence is in dire need for reinforcement.
Xavier is expected to be loaned out for the present campaign and to be integrated into the first team in the 2021/2022 season.
