Two brothers involved in the death of Tolulope Arotile, Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot, has today faced a Magistrate Court in the state.
Recall that Arotile had died in a crash at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna.
The driver Nehemiah Adejo the was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and attention, driving without licence and driving without authorisation of the owner, while David was charged with negligent conduct while causing danger to person and property.
Following the death of Arotile , Nehmiah Adejo and David Adejo pleaded not guilty after being charged four count charges; causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and attention, driving without drivers licence and driving without authorisation of the owner, and one count charged of negligent conduct while causing danger to person and property.

The case was presided over by the Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Benjamin, who granted the defendants bail of N1 million each after hearing arguments from their counsels and Prosecutor DSP Martins Leo.
Also he ruled that the defendants must produce two sureties each who must be residents within the jurisdiction of the court.
He further noted that the sureties must be engaged in legal businesses and also present a Bank Verification Number that corresponds with their information.
The case was subsequently adjourned to 24 and 25 of August.
