Bishop Yohanna tasked Nigerians and indeed Nigerlites in particular to use the period for sober reflection and ask for God’s mercies.

He charged Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the peace and security of the nation and the development of Niger state.

According to him “I want to urge us to have hope in God and not give up on issues bedeviling the country. There is hope that the challenges will soon be over. With the New Niger Agenda, I believe our dear State will have better looks and stand tall”.

The CAN chairman said “on behalf of the leadership of CAN, Niger state Chapter and the entire Christendom; I congratulate Farmer Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago, Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Etsu Nupe, all our Royal fathers and indeed the entire Muslim brothers and sisters.”

He admonished Governor Bago to focus on improving the health care system, begin youth and women empowerment, invest in education, as well as address the socio-economic challenges.

He further appealed to the Muslim Ummah to pray for continued peace, unity, national cohesion and economic recovery of the state and the country as a whole.

Accordingly, he said “let us commit ourselves to love of neighbors irrespective of tribe and religion. And let us all be agents of peaceful coexistence, united on all fronts to defeat our common enemies.

“I call for tolerance, synergy and cooperation to overcome our current challenges.

“As we grapple with various challenges such as insecurity and economic hardship which affect our people especially those in banditry ridden axis, I urge everyone of us including the government to be our brothers’ keepers to making the IDPs camps habitable pending when safety will return”.
