Retired Major General Iliyasu Bashar, the Emir of Gwandu in Kebbi State, has urged Nigerians to get their permanent voter cards before the 2023 general elections.
Goldennewsng reports that as indicated by him, the elector cards have become essential considering the financial and security emergency being looked by Nigerians.
He said that in order to put its programs and policies into action, the Federal Government needs everyone’s support.
The Emir emphasized the upcoming national population census program, new naira notes, and general elections in 2023, urging citizens to support the Federal Government’s success in these areas.
At the wedding of Hadiza Abdullahi and the Governor’s son, Jabir Atiku Bagudu, Bashar made the appeal on Saturday at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi.
The royal father advised Nigerians to present themselves for a head count in order to determine the exact population and strength of the country for the federation’s development plan.
He further encouraged individuals to embrace the cash change by the National Government, saying that the approach has been intended to improve monetary development of the country.
The monarch urged all eligible voters to obtain permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) so they could exercise their civic rights during the general elections in 2023.
He exhorted the populace to cultivate the virtues of brotherhood, piety, security awareness, and peaceful coexistence.
On President Muhammadu Buhari’s 80th birthday, the Emir wished him health, wisdom, and protection so that he could successfully lead the country through the general elections and hand over power.
