Controversial singer Naira Marley was in the eye of the storm some days ago for organizing a concert in Abuja. The issues caused a lot of public outrage as he was said to have been airlifted in a private jet from Lagos to Abuja for the concert.
A very large crowd of marlians showed up for the concert to have the first fun of their lives after the lock down was lifted. Recall that shortly after the lock down was declared in Lagos state, Naira Marley performed at a party in Lagos.
It was on actress Funke Akindele’s husband’s birthday and he was among the guests who were arrested for violating the lock down. While Funke and her husband paid for their offense, Naira Markey settled out of court.
Again he is in the news for violating the same law at a critical time when cases of covid19 are on the rise. The number of people infected is nearing 20,000 and deaths are approaching 500 but Naira Marlkey and his marlian gang cannot hold their urge for partying and clubbing anymore.
The committee set up by resident Buhari addressed the matter by telling newsmen that it never granted permission to Naira Marley and his gang to travel to Abuja for a show. They granted permission to a prominent lawyer but some lovers of Naira Marley managed to smuggle his name in and he was conveyed to Abuja.
In the controversial Naira Marley show attended by hundreds of people in Abuja, there was no social distancing and people interacted freely. After the show generated so many issues Naira Marley personally made fun of the private jet management for reportedly calling his crew useless people.
The pilot that flew the jet has also been sanctioned by the presidential committee. Naira Marley had the last word, describing the private jet officials as to all marlians. His fans are also celebrating his infamous action.
