FG has Declared Friday and Monday Public Holiday For Easter Celebration

According to a report by NewsOnline, the upcoming Easter holiday will be celebrated on Friday, April 7, and Monday, April 10, 2023 as the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared both days as public holidays. The announcement was made by Rauf Aregbesola, the Interior Minister, in Abuja.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shuaib Begore, announced that the Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, is encouraging Christians to emulate the traits and behaviors of Jesus Christ. The minister emphasized the importance of selflessness, unity, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience, which were all demonstrated by Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry.

Furthermore, Aregbesola urged Nigerians, particularly Christians, to use the occasion of the Easter holiday to pray for an end to the security challenges still prevalent in some parts of the country. He stated that security is a collective responsibility, and every citizen and foreign resident in the country should demonstrate a high sense of citizenship and public spiritedness by supporting the efforts of all security agencies to bring peace and security to the nation.

In summary, the Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, has called on Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ and pray for the resolution of security issues in Nigeria during the Easter holidays.

The Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, has reassured Nigerians that the Federal Government is making all necessary efforts to ensure a peaceful transition of government after the recently conducted peaceful elections.

As Christians prepare to celebrate Easter, the minister urged them to exhibit acts of kindness and generosity towards their neighbors, with those who are more fortunate sharing their wealth with those who are less privileged.

Aregbesola expressed his well wishes to Christians both at home and abroad, hoping that they enjoy a peaceful and joyous celebration during the Easter holidays. He also urged all Nigerians to channel their creative energies toward the achievement of the nation’s progress and prosperity.

In conclusion, the minister’s message encourages Christians to exhibit kindness and generosity, while reassuring Nigerians of the government’s efforts towards a peaceful transition of power and the nation’s progress towards a prosperous future.
