Nigeria has accomplished another achievement after the Service of Science Innovation and Advancement created sickle cell and toxin immunizations.
Goldennewsng reports that On Monday, December 12, Adeleke Mamora, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, made the announcement during her speech at the 10th edition of the PMB Administration Scorecard Series (2015-2023).
According to Daily Trust, Mamora claimed that the ministry was able to make use of local herbs in the production of medicines for sickle cell because the country had a lot of people with sickle cell anemia.
Mamora also mentioned some of his ministry’s accomplishments:
“An anti-penic, which reduces body fat, and a vaccine against venom are also being developed.
“Through the Raw Materials Research and Development Council’s dairy sector development program, the Ministry introduced the technology for increasing our cows’ daily milk yield from 1-1.5 liters to over 15 liters.
“The National Space Research and Development Agency is constructing a Space Museum and Planetarium that is anticipated to generate approximately N30 billion, increase tourism, and create 5,000 direct jobs; 20,000 indirect jobs and enhance STI education.
“As long as we maintain faith and capitalize on the enormous power of STI in conjunction with demand-driven R&D programs and projects, our future is full of optimism.
“Nigeria’s presence and effective participation in the fourth industrial revolution will be recorded if we maintain and increase our current commitment to and interest in research and innovation as the primary driving forces for technological advancement.
“We need bravery, discipline, and a focus on the fundamental principles of the culture of result-based management logical framework, where all efforts to implement policy will result in outcomes,”
