The Belgian has not returned to his scoring ways and it doesn’t look good for the forward when compared to Bale’s stats at the club…
Eden Hazard is running out of time and excuses at Real Madrid. The Belgian footballer has struggled and has not resembled the exuberant leader of Chelsea that the team signed almost two seasons ago.
‘AS’ dared to compare his start to another player: Gareth Bale. The Welshman landed in the team in 2013 and, after a campaign and a half in the team, had already scored 32 goals.
Bale was not a man of extraordinary consistency either. On the contrary, he was characterized in his “merengue” stage for being a player of sparks and, thus, they remember of his first year his goal in the final of the Champions or the one of the final of Glass after the race with Bartra.
In the same time, Hazard has only been able to contribute three goals to Real Madrid. And it’s not that he has contributed more in other statistics either. In fact, he has only played 33% of the minutes in the first season and 16% in the second.
Gareth also had a somewhat complicated first season, but even so he managed to play more than half of the minutes (59%) and his adaptation and physical condition improved in his second season in which he reached 78%.
Considering that both of them – despite Bale being at Tottenham, – take a large part of the wage bill, it seems clear that Madrid will have to do something sooner rather than later. Especially if the Belgian doesn’t give a glimpse of the player that one day all of Europe dreamed of signing.
