According to report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai  introduced a register to be duly signed by those still interested in working with the government despite the salary-cut.

Following the strike threat, the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Communications, Muyiwa Adekeye in a statement noted that the state government can not be pressured to accord special status to health workers in the state amongst other public servants.

The state government noted in its statement that it rejects the strike threat, warning that anyone who failed to show up at their duty posts will be considered out of the service.

“Every health worker that is willing to work is required to sign the register at the Ministry of Health and the health institutions to which they are deployed,” the statement noted

It further ensures the safety of staffs who are still interested in retaining their work, adding that it would keep its health facilities running.

“The Ministry of Health has been directed to ensure that health facilities run and provide services to the public, with the support of willing workers who must be offered every assistance and protection,” the state government noted.

The State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai revealed this in a tweet on Thursday that eighteen positive cases have been confirmed in the state and ten are members of the same family.
