How to make smoothies – 5 great recipes

A smoothie is a thick and creamy beverage made from pureed raw fruit, vegetables, and sometimes dairy products, typically using a blender.

Smoothies are full of nutrients and flavor, it is a nourishing drink that can be served during breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Here are five great recipes for making smoothies;

  1. Chocolate banana smoothie

1. 1 banana

2. 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

3. 4 ice cubes (if you don’t use frozen banana)

 

4. ¾ cup Silk Chocolate Soy Milk

5. Whipped cream (optional)

6. Your choice of sprinkles (optional)

How to make it

1. Gather all the ingredients

2. Put the banana, cocoa powder, ice cubes and chocolate soy milk in an electric blender

3. Blend until all the ingredients are combined and smooth.

4. Pour into a glass (or 2 small glasses). Add whipped cream and your choice of sprinkles, if desired.

 

2. Apple smoothie

  1. 1 large Apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  2. 1/2 cup Milk
  3. 1/3 cup Vanilla Yogurt or Plain Yogurt
  4. 5 Almonds (or 1 tablespoon almond powder), optional
  5. 1 teaspoon Honey or Sugar
  6. A dash of ground Cinnamon, optional

How to make it

1. Peel and cut apple into halves. Remove the core and cut apple into large pieces.

2. Add apple and almonds in a blender jar.

3. Add milk, yogurt, and honey.

4. Blend until smooth and there are no chunks of fruit.

5. Pour prepared smoothie into a chilled serving glass and sprinkle cinnamon over it.

6. Drink it immediately for better taste because it will turn brown within half an hour.

3. Strawberry watermelon smoothie

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cups fresh watermelon (black seeds removed)
  2. 1 cup frozen strawberries
  3. 1/2 medium ripe banana
  4. 1/2 – 3/4 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
  5. 1 medium lime (juiced)
  6. 1 Tbsp chia or hemp seeds (optional)                                         

How to make 

1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until creamy and smooth.

2. Add more almond milk to thin, or more frozen strawberries or ice to thicken.

3. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more lime for acidity, banana for sweetness, or watermelon for a more intense watermelon flavor.

4. Serves best when fresh, though leftovers keep covered in the refrigerator for 1-2 day

 

4. Banana milkshake

Ingredients

  1. 250ml semi-skimmed milk
  2. 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  3. 2 bananas, chopped
  4. 50ml double cream, whipped pinch cinnamon
  5. A few dried banana chips
  6. fresh cherry

How to make

  1. it Put the milk, vanilla ice cream and banana into a blender.
  2. Blend everything up until smooth then pour into a tall glass.
  3. Top with a big spoonful of whipped cream and decorate with a pinch of cinnamon, some banana chips, and a cherry.
  4. Serve immediately with a colorful straw.

5. Blueberry and Coconut Milk Smoothie

Ingredients

  1. 11/2 cups blueberries
  2. 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  3. 1/2 cup ice cubes
  4. 2 teaspoons honey
  5. 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

How to Make
