IDAHPOLY Appoints Yahaya Baba Usman As New Rector

This is to inform you that the appointment of Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman as the Polytechnic’s new Rector has been approved by the Visitor and the President in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Goldennewsng reports that Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman is a Kogi State native who was born on August 5, 1968, in the Olamaboro Local Government Area.

For his B.Sc., he went to Federal University of Technology in Minna, Niger State. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Ibadan in Oyo State, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigeria Statistical Association (NSA) and the Professional Statistics Society of Nigeria (PSSN), as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD).

Between the years 1997 and 1998, Dr. Usman worked as an assistant lecturer at Federal Polytechnic, Idah. In 1998, he moved on to The Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, where he rose through the ranks to become chief lecturer on January 1, 2017.

He is an intelligent academic scholar who has attended numerous prestigious local and international conferences and workshops and made significant contributions to the dissemination of knowledge in local and international journals.

In addition, he has won numerous awards and honors in his fields at various forums.

Since 2019, Dr. Usman has held the position of Director, Academic Planning, at Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa.

The appointment is for a single five-year term that begins on the day he takes over.

In order to propel the Polytechnic to greater heights, the Polytechnic Community is hereby urged to provide the new Rector with all necessary assistance and cooperation.

I wish the new Rector success in this challenging position on behalf of the Polytechnic’s Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff, and Students.
