Contrary to reports in some sections of the media, Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo State and senator representing the lmo West senatorial district, has denied dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Goldennewsng reports that Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha’s Special Adviser on Media, released a statement on Thursday stating that he has not joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Okorocha explained that Kingsley Uju, who represents Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency, only attended the funeral of his mother in Egbema on December 30, 2022.
Our only concern was the virus that some miscreants tried to inject into the innocent photos taken at Uju’s mother’s funeral without intending to do so or being aware of the political parties to which everyone at the funeral belonged.
“The perpetrators of this erroneous story deliberately withheld or refused to mention the location where the photographs were taken, as well as the event’s title. They were also unable to quote a portion of Okorocha’s alleged speech from the event.”
He insisted that he was still a member of the APC and made the observation that a funeral could not have turned into a political declaration rally.
The perpetrators of the story, according to the legislator, are mischief makers.
Okorocha stated, A report that claimed that the former governor of Lo State had joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had caught our attention.
We appeal to the general public to disregard the Okorocha membership story. This is false. Since politics is not warfare, the images that were attached to the false story are not evil. neither a risky venture.
