…says, “We’re helpless in Niger, save us from killer Bandits”
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Jonathan Vatsa has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to save Niger State from the claws of armed Bandits and kidnappers, saying the State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello cannot tackle the incessant attacks alone.
Vatsa while appealing on Saturday in a statement said, “the security situation is above the state and the Governor cannot do anything because he can not control the security”.
It should be noted that armed Bandits have unleashed terror in parts of the state especially Rafi, Bosso, Paikoro, Munya and Shiroro local government areas, killing some persons, abducting several others and rendering thousands homeless.
Accordingly, the former Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress APC who was a Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism warned that “if nothing is done now, the killings are likely going to increase and more people will be homeless.
“If the people who voted for President Buhari from Niger are killed, who will vote for the APC come 2023? I appeal to our President to make it a topmost priority to ensure the security of lives and properties in Niger.
While pleading with members of the Boys Brigade, Nigeria in Minna on the rescheduled of its annual Drumline Competition, Vatsa said, the event is postponed because of the Second wave of coronavirus. Adding that “we can not meet up with the COVID 19 protocol: we are postponing it till 2021.
“I advise us to always observe the COVID 19 protocol because the second wave is more deadly because we cannot point to any index or suspected case. Everyone is a suspect because we have all mingled together”.
The Coordinator, Public Affairs to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello also called on the state government to make the use of face masks compulsory as it is one of the surest ways to stay safe and reduce the spread of the virus.
