Aston Villa captain, Jack Grealish, has signed a five year contract with boyhood club after interest from Manchester United and Arsenal over the summer failed to materialised into a bid.
The 24 year old enjoyed a stellar breakthrough season in the Premier League in which he scored eight goals including the memorable goal against West Ham on the final day of the season, which secured Villa’s top flight status.
Grealish broke through the youth ranks at his hometown club in 2014, and played a starring role in their return to the premiership in 2019.
“I am delighted to make this commitment to Villa,” he said. “It is my club, my home and I am very happy here.
“The owners have made it very clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa. These are exciting times ahead and I am very glad to be a part of it.”
Grealish was only last week called up to the England National Team where he made his debut during their Nations League game against Denmark.
