JAMB Subject Combinations For Creative And Visual Arts

The Creative and Visual Arts Department typically falls under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in Nigerian universities. It’s important to note that English Language is a compulsory subject across all disciplines in JAMB, meaning all candidates must sit for the English Language examination. The three mandatory JAMB UTME subjects for Creative and Visual Arts are as follows:

  1. English Language
  2. Fine Arts
  3. Any one Arts or Social Science subject

O’Level Subject Combinations For Creative And Visual Arts

One of the key requirements for eligibility to apply for Creative and Visual Arts is the O’Level subjects. You need to have a minimum of five SSCE credit passes in the specified O’Level subjects, which are listed below:

  1. English Language
  2. Fine Arts
  3. Mathematics
  4. Any two Arts, Social Science, or Science subjects

Note: If you possess an NTC (National Technical Certificate), the required subjects may include Building/Engineering Drawing, General Woodwork, Decorative Painting, Building Construction, Spray Painting, Lining, Machine Printing and Finishing, Sign and Design, Basic Electricity, Printing Origination, Wall Hanging, Bleaching, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Surface Design and Printing, General Metal Work, Dyeing and Finishing, Spinning, Weaving, Graphic Design, Graphics Printing, and Ceramics.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements For Creative And Visual Arts

If you intend to apply for admission to study Creative and Visual Arts in a Nigerian university using the Direct Entry (DE) route instead of UTME, you must meet the following Direct Entry admission requirements:

  1. ND (Upper Credit) / HND (Lower Credit) obtained from a recognized institution.
  2. Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Fine Arts and any other subject.
