APC Govs Reduce Proposed Presidential Aspirants To Three
The governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have reportedly reduced the list of the party’s proposed presidential aspirants to three.
According to GoldenNewsNg , the APC previously screened and cleared 23 candidates for the party’s presidential ticket in 2023.
However, amid issues during the party’s presidential primary and convention, the governors offered a five-man list of aspirants to President Muhammadu Buhari to examine for consensus in the early hours of today.
Subsequently, the governors pruned the list to three aspirants with Tinubu, Osibanjo and Amaechi making the proposed list.
GoldenNewsNg understands that the proposal is not a binding decision but just a suggestion to President Buhari who has requested them to assist in pruning down the 23 aspirants for consensus.
Current happenings at the APC’s convention has, however, stirred lamentations as other aspirants, particularly Governor Kayode Fayemi and Governor Yahaya Bello are kicking, saying that they are still in the race.
