Developed in collaboration with the Directorate of ICT, led by Dr. Toyin Enikuomehin, and the Exams and Records Division, led by Mr. Akinrinmade Olubode, this online clearance application will be available for Part-time, Sandwich, and Full-time students. It allows graduating students to submit their necessary documents online.

The clearance procedure will follow this order, as instructed by Dr. Enikuomehin during the training:

  1. Faculty Office/External System
  2. Sport Center
  3. Library
  4. Students Affairs
  5. Bursary
  6. Internal Audit

Professor Wahab Elias, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), visited the training session at the ICT Building to encourage the staff members involved in implementing the new system and to emphasize its importance for the university’s future development.

To complete the online clearance, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the LASU website at https://www.lasu.edu.ng and click on LASU-GCS under the “Student” option. Alternatively, you can go directly to https://www.lasu.edu.ng/gcs.
  2. Click on “Begin Clearance.”
  3. Provide your “Matriculation Number” and select the appropriate “Student Category.” Review your information and click the “Submit” button.
  4. After successfully submitting Step 3, an activation link and pin will be sent to your email. Keep this pin as it will be required for your clearance process.
  5. Click on the activation link in your email, enter the pin and your matriculation number on the activation screen, then click the “Activate” button.
  6. Generate a password to secure your clearance dashboard. Click the submit button to save your password.
  7. Once Step 6 is completed successfully, you will be taken to the “Login” page. Enter your matriculation number and password, then click the “Sign In” button.
  8. The clearance applications’ progress will be displayed on the dashboard in order of priority.
  9. To begin the clearing process, click on the “Clearance” link in the navigation menu on the left side.
  10. On the clearing page, provide the required information (such as uploading your passport and signature) and click the “Submit” button.
  11. You will receive an email and a notification on your dashboard regarding the approval or denial of your clearance. Proceed to the next stage only when a stage has been approved. Repeat this process until you reach the last clearance stage, which is the internal audit clearance.
  12. Once all clearance steps have been completed and approved, you can download your fully approved clearance by clicking on the “Print Clearance” option in the left-side navigation menu.

Note: Graduating students must enroll and register with the Alumni Association to receive final clearance.

For undergraduate students, visit www.lasu.edu.ng/gcs/ and follow the steps provided on the homepage to complete your clearance. Postgraduate students should visit www.lasu.edu.ng/pg-gcs/ and follow the steps on the homepage for clearance.

Steps Required for External System Students to Complete the Belated Graduating Clearance as Approved

  1. Visit www.lasu.edu.ng/gcs/evidence.php for the payment process. The evidence of payment verification page contains instructions and the approved form for payment.
  2. Pay the clearance fee as instructed on the evidence of payment verification page and obtain a transaction receipt in PDF format as proof of payment.
  3. Return to the evidence of payment verification page mentioned in Step 1 after making the payment.
  4. Upload the transaction receipt along with the payment transaction ID or reference ID, an email address for contact, and other required information. Click the “Upload Receipt” button to successfully upload the payment information. Please note that providing false payment transaction data will have consequences.
  5. You will receive an email notification once the payment has been verified.
  6. To track the status of your payment verification, choose the “Check Verification Status” option on the evidence of payment verification page. Enter your surname and matriculation number on the next screen and click the “Check” button.
  7. The system will display the verification status of your evidence.
  8. Once the payment’s authenticity has been confirmed, proceed to the main clearance portal to start the actual clearance process.

LASU anticipates that this approach will facilitate the completion of late graduation clearance for external system students. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the LASU support team. They are available to provide support and ensure a smooth clearance process.

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
