JAMB Mandates NIN for 2025 Registration of Non-Regular Programme Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the mandatory use of the National Identification Number (NIN) for candidates applying for non-regular programmes in Nigerian tertiary institutions as part of its 2025 registration requirements. This directive aims to combat fraudulent activities and enhance the integrity of candidate records.

The mandate applies to applicants for programmes such as the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Distance Learning, Part-Time, and Sandwich courses. Candidates must create a profile code by sending their NIN through their unique phone number to either of JAMB’s designated shortcodes, 55019 or 66019, before proceeding with registration.

JAMB, NSCDC Synergize on Security for 2025 UTME Registration

In preparation for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration, the Acting Director of the Benin Zonal Office, Mr. Hassan Lawal, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Edo State Command on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. During the visit, Mr. Lawal met with the Commandant, Commandant Agun Gbenga Joseph, to strengthen the existing partnership between JAMB and the NSCDC.

Mr. Lawal highlighted the critical role of the NSCDC in ensuring security during previous JAMB exercises and expressed gratitude for their unwavering support. He also used the opportunity to brief the Commandant on the upcoming 2025 UTME registration exercise, emphasizing the importance of the Corps’ continued collaboration.

JAMB Collaborates with NIPOST for Seamless 2025 UTME Registration in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Coordinator of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr. Bello H. Aminu, has strengthened collaboration with the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) to ensure a seamless 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process. On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Mr. Aminu hosted the Jigawa State Postal Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Musa, at the JAMB State Office complex in Dutse.

During the meeting, Mr. Aminu commended NIPOST for its critical role in previous registration exercises and emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation with the Board. He urged NIPOST pin vendors to display their identification cards prominently to prevent impersonation and extortion of candidates by fraudulent agents. Furthermore, he reiterated that vendors must operate exclusively within JAMB premises to ensure transparency.

JAMB Urges Staff to Update Details for 2025 UTME/DE Process

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all staff members to update their details or complete registration in preparation for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) processes. This initiative aligns with the Board’s commitment to enhancing security, transparency, and accountability throughout the examination process.

JAMB emphasized that updating staff details is crucial to preventing breaches of protocol by candidates, examination officials, or JAMB personnel. Staff members are required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN) and complete the update or registration process via the Board’s Intranet, with a deadline set for the end of the week.
