- On August 28, 2023, Dr. Betta Edu participated in the inaugural meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, held at the Presidential Villa’s Council Chamber in Abuja. During this event, she also received a courtesy visit from a House of Representatives member representing Cross River state.
- Later on the same day, August 28, 2023, in the evening, Dr. Betta Edu, alongside other high-level government officials including Minister of Environment Dr. Ishaq Salako, Minister of Water Resources Prof. Joseph Utsev, and Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation Bello Goronyo, addressed the press regarding the opening of the Lagdo dam by Cameroonian authorities. They discussed the Federal government’s plans to prevent, mitigate, and provide solutions to flooding and its associated consequences.

In the latest Npower update on Sunday, September 5th, 2023, Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, addressed the issue of delayed N-power stipend payments.
Dr. Betta Edu assured the public that efforts are underway to resolve the challenges causing the delay in Npower stipend payments. She announced plans to revise the processes to expedite stipend disbursements, expand the program to include more participants, and relaunch it with a renewed sense of hope. These remarks were made during her recent interview with Radio Nigeria a few days ago.
Additionally, Dr. Edu emphasized that all existing empowerment initiatives under the National Investment Programme will undergo significant improvements to become more effective and encompass a larger number of Nigerians.
