So if you are planning to go to UNIBEN or you just want to know more about science courses in the school, this post will help you a lot. Now let’s begin by talking about what UNIBEN is all about.

About UNIBEN

UNIBEN is the short name for the University of Benin. It is one of the top federal universities in Nigeria. The school is located in Benin City, which is the capital of Edo State. It was started in 1970, and since then, it has become one of the most respected universities in the country.

UNIBEN is known for offering quality education. The school has many different departments and faculties. It offers courses in medicine, law, science, engineering, education, social sciences, and many others. But in this blog post, we will only focus on science courses.

The school has a big campus, good classrooms, modern laboratories, and experienced lecturers. It also has hostels for students, a library, and other things that help students learn better. Every year, many students from different parts of Nigeria apply to study at UNIBEN because the school is well-known and respected.

Why Choose Uniben

There are many universities in Nigeria, but many students still pick UNIBEN as their first choice. There are good reasons for this. Let me share some of the main reasons why students love UNIBEN and want to study there.

• UNIBEN is a federal university, and this means the school fees are cheaper compared to private universities. So many parents and students can afford the fees.

• The school has a good name. People respect the certificate that comes from UNIBEN, and it can help you get a good job after graduation.

• UNIBEN has experienced teachers and lecturers who know how to teach well. Many of them are well-trained, and they teach in a way that students can easily understand.

• The school is located in a peaceful city. Benin City is calm and safe, and students can move around without fear or problems.

• UNIBEN has good learning facilities. This includes libraries, laboratories, and internet access. Science students especially need laboratories, and the school provides these.

• UNIBEN offers a wide range of science courses. Whether you like biology, chemistry, physics, or computers, you will find a course that matches your interest.

Jamb Requirements For Admission Into Uniben

Before you can study any science course in UNIBEN, you must write the JAMB exam. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is in charge of all university admissions in Nigeria. So, every student who wants to enter university must write JAMB.

There are some important things you need to know about JAMB and UNIBEN admission.

• Applicants must pick UNIBEN as your first choice during JAMB registration. If you pick it as second choice, the school will not consider you.

• Applicants must choose the correct subjects. For most science courses, you will need to write English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. But the subject combination depends on the exact course you want to study.

For example, to study Computer Science, you will need English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. To study Nursing, you will need English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

• You must get a high score in your JAMB exam. UNIBEN is a very competitive school, and they usually accept students who score 200 and above. Some courses like Medicine or Pharmacy may require 250 or more.

• You must also write the UNIBEN post-UTME screening exam. This is a test that the school uses to check the students who want to get admission. The score from JAMB and post-UTME will be added together to decide who gets admitted.

• You must have good O’level results. This means you must have at least five credits in your WAEC, NECO, or GCE. The credits should include English Language, Mathematics, and three science subjects.

If you meet all these requirements, then you have a good chance of getting admission into UNIBEN.

How To Apply For UNIBEN Admission

Now that you know the courses and the JAMB requirements, you should also know how to apply for admission into UNIBEN. The steps are simple, but you must follow them correctly.

Step 1. Register for JAMB and choose UNIBEN as your first choice. Make sure you choose the right course and select the correct subject combination.

Step 2. Write the JAMB exam and score well. The higher your score, the better your chance of getting admitted.

Step 3. Wait for UNIBEN to announce their post-UTME screening. This is usually done on their website. You will go to the school portal and register for the post-UTME.

Step 4. Pay for the screening and submit your details. After that, you will get a date for the exam.

Step 5. Go for the exam. Make sure you prepare well before the exam. You should also go with your JAMB result, O’level results, and the printout from the UNIBEN portal.

Step 6. Wait for the result of the post-UTME. If your name appears on the admission list, then you have been admitted.
