A married woman and mother has revealed she she collects, drinks and applies her menstrual blood on her skin, claiming it helps to boost her physical and spiritual health .
Jasmine Alicia Carter, 30, from Barcelona, Spain says she applies her fresh menstrual blood as a facemask and creates ‘period paintings’ with her blood and that her husband approves of it.
The mother-of-one is a Sacred Woman’s Empowerment Mentor who helps and coaches women ‘to understand and reclaim the inherent sacredness that lies within their entire menstrual cycle.’
‘Understanding and reclaiming my period has given me a whole new appreciation for myself and for women,’ she said.
She also uses her own menstrual blood to create art and revealed that she mixes it with water to create different tones .
‘We are here because of our vaginas and our blood and women don’t take enough credit for that.’
‘Instead, throughout time, women have been taught to feel ashamed of our periods.’
‘If you look at tampons and sanitary pads, they’re floral scented and full of chemicals to hide our blood and compromise the natural functioning of our periods.
‘But in reality, your menstrual blood is highly packed with all the nutrients that we need.’
She claims menstrual blood is highly packed with all the nutrients that women need, such as protein, iron, copper and selenium.
She says her blood is so ‘clean’ and that she no longer has to use a strainer and can paint with it immediately
She claims applying menstrual blood to her face has improved the facial skin.
‘It’s rich with protein, iron, copper, selenium which many women are so depleted of. It contains regenerative stem cells and it has antimicrobial as well as detoxifying properties.’
‘Your menstrual blood is pure medicine. If you can collect you period blood, there are so many things you can do with it and ways it can benefit your health and wellbeing.’
‘When I drink my period blood, I will usually squat on the toilet, remove my menstrual cup and take a sip. I’m so connected to my body that I know exactly how much blood to drink.’
‘Sometimes it’s just a sip and sometimes it’s a whole menstrual cup because I need more nutrients.’
‘In regards to drinking your period blood, there is a disclaimer that you need to be in good health to drink it.’
‘Your period blood won’t as good if you’re eating junk food everyday for example because your nutrients will be poor. But when you’re in tune with your period, then you know how much you need to drink and can feel the benefits.’
Jasmine, who lives with her husband Suriya and their 2-year-old son Rav, added: ‘Your menstrual blood is great for skincare too and I love period face masks. When I first put my fresh menstrual blood on my face, it felt so natural. The feeling is very refreshing and cooling on the skin.’
