It is obvious that former President Olusegun Obasanjo and musician Edrees Abdulkareem may never get along after the latter was offended by a song released by Edrees Abdulkareem which described Nigeria as “jaja jaja” a way of saying that the country was in shambles.
The musician has once again ignited a controversy by accusing Nigeria former President Olusegun Obasanjo of plotting to create a new country in 2003 while he was president. According to him, Obasanjo had signed a United Nations report with President Biya of Cameroon in 2003.
Edrees Abdulkareem did not say the name of the country that Obasanjo trend to create when he was president but many of his fans specified that it was Biafra. Nigeria has a a conflict with Cameroon which has lasted for may years over the Bakassi peninsula.
President Obasanjo never resolved the issue util the end of his tenure and his successor ceded Bakassi to Cameroon. But the issue never went away because the matter remained in court ad it is still i court to this day. Creation of a Biafran state may have been the best way to solve a dispute such as the Bakassi controversy.
