N-Power Beneficiaries Calls Out President Tinubu Over Unpaid Stipends
The N-Power Batch “C” participants, in a letter written by their spokesperson Gbadebo Adesiyan, expressed that not receiving their regular payments has caused significant distress and hardship for the many unemployed Nigerian graduates included in the program.
The Batch “C” of N-Power beneficiaries sent a letter to President Bola Tinubu, urgently seeking help. They are unhappy that they haven’t received their monthly payments for the past eight months.
According to Adesiyan, no N-Power Batch “C” beneficiary has been paid any money from January to July of this year. As August, the eighth month, comes to a close, this situation has left beneficiaries uncertain and sad about their financial situation.
Adesiyan explained that the reason for the payment delay is the claim that funds for these unpaid months have not been approved or sent to the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) account by the presidency.
The letter expressed a strong concern for the ongoing issue and implored the President to act quickly to address the problem and restore the trust of the Nigerian people in the government’s dedication to their well-being.
Throughout the year, starting from January to July 2023, beneficiaries have not received any stipends. This has caused a lot of financial uncertainty and sadness among them.
The situation became worse when an unreliable validation process was introduced. Many beneficiaries faced difficulties trying to validate their accounts, preventing them from accessing the stipends they rely on. Even those who managed to complete the validation process have not received any payments.
As a result, beneficiaries are struggling to meet their basic needs and support their families. The unpaid stipends were meant to help them financially and contribute to the economy. However, the prolonged delay has made their already difficult situations even worse, pushing them deeper into poverty and despair.
