It has been reported that N20BN Covid-19 allowance has been paid to health workers across the country by the federal government.
Dr Olurunnimbe Mamora, the Minister of State for Health disclosed this during an appearance on Channels Television ‘Sunrise Daily’ program on Wednesday.
“We’ve been able to disburse close to N20bn, so to now say nothing has been done, that is not true.
“We were able to pay April, May – fully paid, June – not fully paid, and it’s because of the economic situation, and these funds have to be sourced for one way or the other.
The Minister also alleged that the funds were paid to federal health institutions, teaching hospitals and federal medical centres.
It will be recalled that doctor’s in the country went on a nationwide indefinite strike on Monday.
