As part of agenda to reform the educational sector and sanitize the Private schools in the state, Niger State Commissioner of Education Hannatu Jibrin Salihu has disclosed that a comprehensive database on Private Schools is now available for planning, ease of operation and enforcement activities.
Hajia Salihu said in Minna at the Public Presentation of the Establishment and Operations of Private Basic and Secondary Schools (Executive Order No. 15 of 2023) and flag Off of the Re-Validation of Private Schools Registration Exercise that the exercise will strengthen the capacity and operations of the private school Board to perform its statutory functions without undue interference in an environment of high ethical a d service standards.
According to her “the objectives of the revalidation are to ensure that; all schools are captured by the end of the exercise; proper status of each school is to be determined or corrected.
“Also, digital record about every school is created to be updated periodically; and comprehensive database on private school is now available for planning and ease of operation and enforcement activities.”
Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Niger state Private Schools Board, Alhaji Yabagi Alkali said the regulations is in line with the Niger State Government’s effort of ensuring all children are given access to quality education irrespective of their status, as well as delivering education for the all-round development of our children.
According to him “through this singular effort, the Private Schools Board now has a working document of world class standard to enable all actors operate in an unambiguous knowledge – based environment.
Furthermore, he said “as key stakeholders in the Business of education, I want to urge you all to continue to support the education sector because Education is the only key that can unlock the inherent potentials in children, hence learning becomes a major preparation that can make them productive.”
