Niger PDP LGA Congresses: Sen. Misau, others abscond

After participating in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government area congresses, a group under the auspices of Concerned Peoples’ Democratic Party members in Niger State led by former Deputy Governor, Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu has raised the alarm that, Senator Hamman Misau and other members of the national electoral team have absconded with the results without any explanations.
Leader of the group, Dr. Zagbayi made this known on Monday in Minna at a Press Conference attended by several PDP party members, explaining that the congresses held in 19 out of 25 local governments and those that emerged winners have already been sworn-in and have commenced work in their councils.
Accordingly, Zagbayi said “On the 5th of September 2020, The Local Government congresses in Niger State held, and all results were announced, collated and all winners were sworn-in and have since resumed as provided in the PDP guidelines for 2020, section 3.4.
“However, with exception of Agaie, Magama, Munya, Agwara LGAs where elections didn’t hold and Shiroro LGA where election held in 4 out of 15 wards.”
Dr. Zagbayi added that the concerned members of PDP are unsure of the intent of Senator Misau and his team members who sneaked out of Minna at 5:am of Sunday, leaving behind one of the members of the team who insisted he will wait to collect all results.
Consequently, he said “We make this statement as position of Members of the PDP with full awareness that no amount of treachery, Machinations and arm twisting will be allowed”
He queried, “they were asked to come and conduct elections but why are they not in Minna? Why did they leave in a hurry without doing what the national secretariat sent them to come and do?.”
The Chieftains include former Governorship candidate of the party, Alh. Umar Nasko, former Secretary to the State Government in the last PDP administration, SSG, Alhaji Ndako Kpaki, former House of Representatives members, former Commissioners among others.
Several calls to Senator Hamman Misau phone number was not answered as it kept saying line busy.
