Nile University Announces Scholarship And Discount Opportunities For 2023/2024 Session

 

The NILE Board of Trustees has announced the scholarship and discount program for the 2023/2024 academic session at Nile University of Nigeria (“NILE”). Prospective students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate programs have the opportunity to receive scholarships based on their JAMB or O-LEVEL (WAEC/NECO) results, as officially stated.

No More Upkeep During Holidays – NELFUND Tells Students

JAMB Score-Based Scholarships:

  • JAMB score of 240: 10% discount
  • JAMB score of 260: 20% discount
  • JAMB score of 280: 30% discount
  • JAMB score of 300: 40% discount

WAEC Score-Based Scholarships:

  • 5A1: 10% discount
  • 6A1: 20% discount
  • 7A1: 30% discount

Please note: These discounts apply to all undergraduate programs except Law and Medicine.

Students with a JAMB score of 320 and above, along with 5 A1s in their O-LEVEL results, will be granted a 100% scholarship.

A-Level Results-Based Scholarships:

  • 3 A’s: 25% for NILE SPS, 20% for others
  • 2 A’s: 15% for NILE SPS, 10% for others

Scholarships for Postgraduate Programs:

  • First-class graduates of NILE undergraduate programs: 50% scholarship for Master’s (or PGD) program
  • NILE graduates with other degree classifications: 20% scholarship for Master’s (or PGD) program
  • Postgraduate alumni of NILE returning for another postgraduate degree: 20% scholarship

Sports Scholarships:

Outstanding athletes at the national or professional level are eligible for a 100% scholarship for undergraduate studies, subject to approval by the NILE Board of Trustees, if they represent NILE in their respective sports.

Guidelines on Scholarships:

  • Undergraduate applicants can only utilize either JAMB or O-LEVEL results for scholarships.
  • Undergraduate scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum average CGPA of 3.50 to retain their scholarships each session.
  • Scholarship recipients must adhere to NILE’s regulations and maintain good behavior.
  • Scholarships are limited to quotas decided by NILE’s management and are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • NILE reserves the right to withdraw any scholarship if necessary.

Discounts:

Sibling and institutional discounts are available for families with multiple children enrolled in NILE and for institutions or bodies sponsoring students for NILE’s postgraduate programs.

Sibling Discount:

  • Two children: 5%
  • Three children: 10%
  • Four children: 15%
  • Five children and above: 20%

Institutional Discount for Postgraduate Sponsorships:

  • 5 – 10 students: 10%
  • 10 – 20 students: 15%
  • 20 and above students: 20%

Important Notes:

  • Applicants cannot apply for discounts or scholarships under more than one criterion. The highest discount or scholarship will be applied in case of multiple eligibilities.
  • Applicants must apply to be considered for discounts or scholarships. These are only applicable at the point of entry and cannot be applied retrospectively.
  • Discounts and scholarships do not cover hostel fees.

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
