The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC has penciled down Sept 28 as the day to commence a nationwide protest over the increase in prices of petrol and electricity tariff.
This was after the National Executive Council NEC of the NLC endorsed the decision of the Central Working Committee CWC on Tuesday.
It is still unclear if a nationwide strike will follow the Sept 28 planned protest, although NLC officials has disclosed to reporters that a communique will be released soon.
Golden News reported last week that NLC issued a two weeks ultimatum to the federal government to reverse the increased fuel price and electricity tariff.
NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, while addressing journalists on Tuesday in Abuja stated that NEC is totally against the increment and advised the government to repair it’s refineries.
Nigeria’s four refineries are currently all under repairs and as such incapable of producing fuel.
