The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has intervened in the ongoing crisis of unpaid stipends affecting N-Power beneficiaries nationwide.

Beneficiaries, who have been owed for between 8 to 12 months, had earlier written to the Congress seeking intervention after months of frustration and hardship.

In a letter dated 5th August 2025, signed by Acting General Secretary Comrade Benson Upah, the NLC confirmed receipt of a formal request from the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries (NANB).

The Congress has now scheduled a meeting with representatives of the beneficiaries for Monday, 25th August 2025, at its headquarters in Labour House, Central Business District, Abuja. The meeting will be led by the NLC President and is set for 2 p.m.

This move is seen as a critical turning point, as thousands of youths under the programme have been struggling without payment for nearly a year. Many are hopeful that the NLC’s involvement will finally compel the authorities to act.

The NLC has consistently stressed that labour creates wealth and that workers and volunteers deserve timely compensation.

All eyes are now on the August 25 meeting, with expectations high that a resolution will be reached to ease the burden on the beneficiaries.

Stay tuned for updates.
