National Population Commission (NPC) Training Update for 2023 Recruitment: What You Need to Know

The National Population Commission (NPC) is a federal government agency responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating population data in Nigeria. As part of its mandate, the NPC is conducting a training exercise for the recruitment of enumerators and supervisors for the 2023 population census. In this update, we will provide you with important information about the training exercise.

Training Venues and Link

The NPC has announced that the link to check the training venues across the federation will be made available online soon. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep checking the NPC website or their email for updates.

Requirements for Training

To participate in the training exercise, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a valid means of identification (National ID card, Driver’s license, International passport, or Voters card).
  • Have a functional smartphone and enough internet data plan.
  • Be punctual and attend the training sessions.
  • Be willing to participate in the training WhatsApp group.

Important Information for Trainees

Candidates should take note of the following important information before attending the training:

  • No food will be provided during the training recess or break time. However, trainees will be paid a feeding allowance after the training.
  • Nursing mothers are not allowed to participate in the training.
  • Late coming or not punctuality can lead to disqualification from the main test or exam.
  • Training commences at 8.30am and may end by 6pm every day.
  • Trainees are required to belong to the WhatsApp group for the training.
  • Facilitators are expected to possess the skills to teach the basic topics for better understanding.
  • It is essential to know how to operate android phones (PDA).

    Rescheduled Time Table for the 2023 Population and Housing Census Training and Field Work

    The 2023 Population and Housing Census is a crucial exercise that will provide essential information for planning and policy-making in Nigeria. To ensure the success of the census, various training programs have been scheduled for different categories of personnel involved in the exercise. This article provides information on the rescheduled timetable for the census training and fieldwork.

    Refresher Training for DQM and Specialized Workforce at State Level

    The Refresher Training for DQM (Data Quality Management) and Specialized Workforce at State Level will commence on Monday, 3rd April 2023, and end on Thursday, 6th April 2023. This training is designed to refresh the knowledge of the DQM and specialized workforce to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data collected during the census.

    First Phase Enumerators and Supervisor’s Training

    The first phase of the Enumerators and Supervisors’ Training will take place from 11th to 17th April 2023. This training is essential for personnel who will be involved in data collection during the census exercise. Participants will be trained on data collection tools, data quality management, and ethical issues related to data collection.

    Second Phase Enumerators and Supervisor’s Training

    The second phase of the Enumerators and Supervisors’ Training will hold from 25th to 30th April 2023. This training will build on the knowledge and skills acquired during the first phase training. It will focus on more practical aspects of data collection, such as fieldwork, data processing, and report writing.

    Census Night

    The Census Night has been scheduled for 2nd May 2023. This is the night when the census will be conducted, and all residents of Nigeria will be counted. It is an essential aspect of the census exercise and must be conducted accurately and efficiently.

    Fieldwork

    The Fieldwork will commence on 3rd May 2023 and end on 6th May 2023. This is the period when data will be collected from households and other institutions in Nigeria. The success of the fieldwork will depend on the knowledge and skills of the enumerators and supervisors, as well as the cooperation of the residents.
