NEXIT Loan: What You Need to Know

Are you a Nigerian youth looking for funding to start or grow your business? The NEXIT Loan program may be the solution you’ve been searching for. In this article, we’ll explain what NEXIT Loan is, who is eligible, how to apply, and more.

What is NEXIT Loan?

NEXIT Loan is a loan program designed by the Nigerian government to support young entrepreneurs and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an offshoot of the N-Power program, which was established in 2016 to provide employment and skills acquisition opportunities to Nigerian youths.

Who is Eligible for NEXIT Loan?

To qualify for the NEXIT Loan program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a Nigerian citizen
  • You must be between the ages of 18 and 35
  • You must have a valid BVN (Bank Verification Number)
  • You must have completed the N-Power program or have been disengaged from the program for not more than two years
  • You must have a business idea or an existing business that requires funding

How to Apply for NEXIT Loan

To apply for the NEXIT Loan, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the NEXIT Loan portal
  2. Click on “Apply Now“
  3. Fill in your personal information and other required details
  4. Upload your business plan and other supporting documents
  5. Submit your application

After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by the NEXIT Loan team, and you will be contacted if you are selected for funding.

If you’re interested in applying for a NEXIT Loan, the process is relatively straightforward. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to the N-power NEXIT web portal at https://nexit-fmhds.cbn.gov.ng/auth/signup.
  2. Enter the email address that you used to register as an N-Power Beneficiary.
  3. Enter and then double-check your password. Remember to never share your password with anyone.
  4. Add your contact information, including your first and last names and BVN.
  5. Double-check the information to make sure it’s accurate before clicking submit. The platform will then take you to a page for email activation.
  6. Type your email address again and select “Resend Activation Mail.”
  7. Wait for the confirmation email that the portal will send you.
  8. Activate your account by clicking the link in the email you received for verification.
  9. Finally, log back into the NEXIT site and fill out all the required fields. Your registration will be successful once you’ve completed this step.

It’s important to note that you’ll need to have all the necessary documents and information on hand when you fill out the application form. This includes your educational qualification credentials, deployment letter from your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA), and a valid means of identification, among other things.

By following these steps and providing accurate information, you can increase your chances of successfully applying for a NEXIT Loan and accessing the funding you need to start or grow your business.

Benefits of NEXIT Loan

The NEXIT Loan program offers several benefits to young entrepreneurs and businesses, including:

  • Access to funding to start or grow your business
  • Low-interest rates and flexible repayment terms
  • Business advisory and support services to help you succeed
  • Opportunity to create jobs and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth

To be eligible to apply for a NEXIT Loan, candidates must meet certain requirements, which include:

  • Being a Nigerian citizen by birth
  • Not currently employed in any government establishment, whether at the state or federal level
  • Being a former N-Power Batch A or B beneficiary
  • Possessing a National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Providing educational qualification credentials
  • Providing a Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  • Providing a deployment letter from your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA)
  • Having a valid means of identification, such as a voter’s card, National Identity Card, Driver’s License, NIN, or International Passport.

If your application is accepted, you can borrow up to 5 million Naira with no collateral required, making this offer quite attractive. However, it’s important to note that the judges will carefully review your business plan to determine your eligibility.

The NEXIT Loan Business Plan consists of ten parts, including

  • personal details,
  • business information,
  • loan information,
  • equipment list,
  • working capital list,
  • product and services,
  • assets list,
  • competitive analysis,
  • management plan,
  • and SWOT analysis. While having a Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) certificate for your company can improve your chances of obtaining larger loans, it is not required to access the NEXIT Loan. If you don’t have a CAC certificate, you may still be eligible for smaller loans.

In conclusion, if you’re a Nigerian youth looking to start or grow your business, the NEXIT Loan can be an excellent opportunity to access funding and support. However, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements, have a well-thought-out business plan, and are prepared to showcase your managerial skills to the judges.

The NEXIT Loan program is an excellent opportunity for young Nigerian entrepreneurs and businesses to access funding and support to start or grow their ventures. If you meet the eligibility criteria, we encourage you to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to achieve your business goals.
