Eligibility for NYSC Exemption Letter:

To determine your eligibility for the NYSC certificate of exemption, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Full-time students who are over 30 years of age at the time of graduation.
  • Part-time students.
  • Individuals who have served in the Nigerian Armed Forces for more than 9 months.
  • Recipients of national awards like the “Order of the Niger” or other national honors.

How to Apply for NYSC Exemption Letter:

Visit the nearest NYSC State Secretariat and request to apply for an NYSC exemption letter. You will be given an application form to fill out and must attach the required documents when submitting your application.

The required documents include:

  • Completed application form.
  • Documents showing academic qualifications.
  • Approved result.
  • Applicant’s identity document.
  • Supporting documents (as instructed).

After submitting the application and supporting documents, you will need to pay the fee prescribed by the NYSC authorities.

Once the payment is made, your application will be forwarded for verification and validation. You will be notified when the exemption letter is ready for collection. However, you will be required to collect the certificate from your tertiary institution.
