PDP reacts to death of chairman, Ekpenyong

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commiserated with the government and people of Akwa Ibom over the death of the state chairman, Obong Ekpenyong.

The National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, signed the condolence message on Thursday.

The spokesman described Ekpenyong as an exceptionally dedicated administrator, an incomparable team player and grassroots mobiliser.

He noted that the deceased remained loyal to the ideals of the PDP.

The party recalled Ekpeyong’s contributions towards the stability, growth and success of the party, at state and national levels.

“The death of Obong Udo Ekpenyong is a shattering blow, not only to our party, the PDP, but also to the nation at large.”

Ologbondiyan said he was resilient in the fight for the entrenchment of the democratic tenets of justice, equity, fairness, good governance in our nation.

Ologbondiyan said that the nation has lost one of her bright lights.

PDP consoled Ekpenyong’s family, associates and party faithful in Akwa-Ibom.
