The Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, has accused the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi of lying about being awarded the best Governor in Healthcare in Nigeria by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2013.
GoldenNewsNg Recalls that the former Anambra governor disclosed this while speaking at the Arise news presidential town hall meeting on Sunday.
However, the presidential aide in a tweet on Sunday stated that Obi has been fact-checked by PremiumTimes that the award was actually specifically for the Best Governor on eradication of polio in South East Nigeria.
Ogunlesi wrote, “HE @PeterObi claimed he was awarded best Governor in Healthcare in Nigeria by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2013; he has just been fact-checked by @PremiumTimesng that the award was actually specifically Best Governor on eradication of polio in South East Nigeria.”
