Spanish professional tennis player, Rafael Nadal has reacted to his fellow colleague, Roger Federer after he announced his retirement from sport.
Goldennewsng reports that Federer had on Thursday announced his retirement from competitive tennis in a heartfelt social media post.
The upcoming Laver Cup in London will be Federer’s last ATP tournament.
Reacting, Nadal said he was sad over Federer’s retirement.
The Spaniard said he would see Federer in London, wishing him happiness.
In a series of tweets, Nadal wrote on Twitter: “Dear Roger, my friend, and rival. I wish this day would have never come. It is a sad day for me personally and for sports around the world.
“It’s been a pleasure but also an honor and privilege to share all these years with you, living so many amazing moments on and off the court.
“For now, I truly wish you all the happiness with your wife, Mirka, your kids, your family and enjoy what’s ahead of you. I will see you in London. @LaverCup.”
