Jorge Valdano, analyst and former player and coach at Real Madrid, said that the team will not allow a repeat of what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Days go by and nobody is any wiser in regards to Sergio Ramos’ future. Neither Real Madrid nor the footballer announced his renewal and he could go to another team completely free.
Jorge Valdano analyded this particular situation in ‘El Transistor’ and was convinced that what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018 will not be repeated.
“He will end up renewing with Real Madrid. It would be a mistake on both sides if this were not the case. The same thing happened with Cristiano. Real Madrid was left without the Champions League and Cristiano without the Golden Ball,” explained the Argentine.
On another subject, Valdano spoke of Real Madrid’s controversial trip to Pamplona to play for El Sadar: “If a plane takes off, the responsibility does not lie with La Liga”.
Finally, he relieved Zinedine Zidane of some responsibility for the ‘merengue’ stumble against Osasuna and blamed the footballers in a veiled way: “We are making coaches responsible for more and more things”.
