Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, called Arsene Wenger’s return to the Emirates “weird.”
Goldennewsng reports that on Boxing Day, Wenger watched as Arsenal defeated West Ham 3-1.
The 73-year-old departed the club at the conclusion of the 2017/2018 season, after 22 years, for the first time.
Arteta also revealed that Wenger visited the locker room following the game when he spoke at the Oxford stadium.
Arteta stated to ITV, “You could feel that he was emotional, that he really enjoyed [it].”
“And I believe he felt the love and appreciation of everyone at the football club for what he had done. Even though it was strange to see him around the dressing room, everyone had a wonderful day.
