Singer Seun Kuti has made fun of President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha.
Goldennewsng reports that he called the Nigerian first lady “fat” and said that she used money meant for Nigerians to get fat to send men from the Department of State Security DSS to arrest him.
He posted a video of him dragging Mrs. Buhari to social media just a few days after Muhammed Aminu, a final-year student at Federal University Dutse in Jigawa State’s Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, was arrested and arraigned in court for posting a tweet in June of this year in which he called the first lady fat.
Aminu tweeted in Hausa, “Su mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi,” which roughly translates to “Mama has fed fat on poor people’s money,” and shared a picture of Mrs. Buhari on his handle.
Seun, the son of legendary afrobeat singer Fela Kuti, dared Mrs. Buhari to send her DSS to arrest him after he called her “fat” in response to the incident. He added,
“You are fat, and you use our money to get fat,” I said. Make your DSS arrive on this side. You will be a goat if you neither send your DSS to you nor receive sense. You are fat, Aisha Buhari!”
That woman ought to be imprisoned. In Nigeria, there is no such thing as law if Aisha Buhari is not in jail. Aisha Buhari will not even have an office if she is not imprisoned for office abuse. There is nothing like the first lady’s position in the constitution. They waste our money on their wives to avoid monitoring them and their girlfriends, mounting everything with holes—male and female—and these girlfriends are not just women. This is a significant office. There are both males and females.
