The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Kogi branch, has confirmed the official death toll of yesterday’s ghastly tanker accident that occured at the Felele area of Lokoja to be 23 and not the 30 this reporter stated yesterday.

Mr Idris Fika, The FRSC Sector Commander in Lokoja, stated that aside the lives lost, motor vehicles, a school bus, tricycles and motor cycles were all destroyed in the accident.
The 23 persons lost in the accident include, ten adult male, six adult female, three female and four male children.
The deceased have all been taken to the morgue at the Kogi State specialist hospital in Lokoja.
The State Governor, Yahaya Bello has sympathized with the families of the dead as his deputy, Edward Onoja visited the scene of the accident.
