It is highly recommended that candidates research the admission requirements for their preferred institution and course of study to be adequately prepared. Below are the admission requirements for UTME candidates who wish to study at the University of Calabar (UNICAL):

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five O’level credits in different subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. These credits can be obtained from WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or any equivalent examination.
  • To qualify for UNICAL post-UTME screening, candidates must score a minimum of 180 in the UTME.
  • Candidates are required to select the University of Calabar (UNICAL) as their first choice of institution. However, second-choice candidates may also be considered for admission.
  • It is important for candidates to choose the correct and official subject combination for their chosen courses in order to be offered admission into the University of Calabar.
  • Candidates must participate in the UNICAL post-UTME screening and perform excellently well in the test.

Note: The University of Calabar accepts the use of two O’level results for admission. This means that candidates can combine results from a maximum of two sittings.

UNICAL Admission Requirements For Direct Entry Candidates 2023/2024

  • Direct Entry candidates must possess two A’level passes or two NCE passes in subjects that are relevant to their preferred course of study.
  • Direct Entry candidates are also required to participate in the UNICAL Post-UTME screening alongside other aspirants.
  • Candidates must purchase and register for the UNICAL Direct Entry through the JAMB Direct Entry form.

Note: Both Direct Entry and UTME candidates who have been offered admission into the University of Calabar are required to pay the acceptance fee within the specified time frame set by the school.

We hope that this article has provided you with valuable information regarding UNICAL admission requirements for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates. If you have any further questions, please feel free to leave them in the comment section, and we will respond to you accordingly.
