We are pleased to inform the general public and prospective candidates that the sale of Application Forms for admission into the Part-Time Degree Programs of the College of Continuing Education (CCE), University of Port Harcourt, for the 2023/2024 session has officially commenced.

This article serves as a comprehensive guide for all aspiring candidates and students who have been searching for the UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Admission Form for the 2023 academic session. We will provide detailed information on the admission requirements and the application process for the UNIPORT part-time form, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding, especially for first-time applicants.

Candidates who possess A/Level GCE or Diploma from a recognized institution may be granted admission into various academic programs using the Direct Entry mode.

The following programs will be offered during the session:

  1. Faculty of Humanities:
  • B.A. Degree Programs in History & Diplomatic Studies, English Studies, Philosophy, Religious & Cultural Studies, and Linguistics & Communication Studies.
  • B.Sc. Degree Programs in Economics, Public Administration, and Sociology (Community Development & Social Welfare).
  1. Faculty of Management Sciences:
  • B.Sc. Degree Programs in Accounting, Finance and Banking, Management, Marketing, and Hospitality Management & Tourism.
  1. Faculty of Science:
  • B.Sc. Degree Program in Computer Science.

UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Admission Requirements:

  1. Eligible candidates with WAEC/SSCE, GCE ‘O’ Level, or their equivalent, with credit passes in five (5) relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, are eligible to apply. However, certain subjects such as Book Keeping, Business Studies, Typewriting, Secretarial Studies, Shorthand, Social Studies and Health Science, Food and Nutrition, and Home Economics are not acceptable.

Admission Requirements for Direct Entry into UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Programs:

In addition to five credit passes in WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE “O” Level, or their equivalent, at no more than two sittings, graduates of A/Level, NCE/Diploma with credit in the relevant subjects from approved institutions may also apply for the Direct Entry Program in any of the courses listed below.

Faculty of Humanities:

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Diplomatic Studies
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Studies
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious and Cultural Studies

Faculty of Science:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology (Community Development and Social Welfare)

Faculty of Management Sciences:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Management
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Banking
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism

Faculty of Science:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science

Note: Only ‘O’ Level in WAEC (SSCE/GCE), NABTEB, and NECO certificates are acceptable for registration.

How to Apply for UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Admission Form:

  1. Eligible candidates are required to log on to the JAMB website for JAMB registration and completion of the online application form, with a sum of N3,500.00 (three thousand five hundred nairas only).
  2. Click on the Part-Time or Diploma in Law form under the CCE menu.
  3. After completing the application form, be sure to click on the submit button.
  4. Upon submission, an invoice page will be displayed.
  5. Click on the “Get RRR” button (Remitta Retrieval Reference).
  6. The Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code will be displayed. Print this page and proceed with payment of the application fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only, excluding bank charges, at designated banks nationwide.

Payment using the bank:

  • Present the printed invoice to the bank teller.
  • After payment at the bank, return to the portal to verify the payment.

Verification of Payment:

  1. For payment verification, select the Fees Verification link under the CCE menu and enter the Payee ID from your printed invoice. Select the category of the fee you paid for.
  2. If your payment is verified, you will be asked to upload your passport. Please do so and click on the Upload button.
  3. Finally, print the receipt displayed on the screen.

Note:

  • The names on the candidate’s O’Level certificate(s) must match those filled out online.
  • Once a candidate is admitted, a change of name is not allowed.
  • Candidates must ensure they have the requisite qualifications for the intended courses.
  • Candidates should report to the Examinations and Records Unit, CCE, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, with photocopies of their credentials and payment receipt for the collection of the brochure.
