How to Solve Jamb Profile Code Issues

When selecting their courses, students often base their decisions on JAMB-approved subject combinations and recommendations from others regarding institutions that offer their desired programs. Agricultural economics is frequently chosen to avoid subjects involving mathematics.

Many students prefer courses that do not require advanced mathematics, such as Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Law, and various art-related fields. To assist interested individuals, we have compiled a list of Nigerian universities that offer agricultural economics, including information on required subjects, cutoff scores, and admission requirements.

Agricultural economics is an applied field of economics that utilizes economic theory to optimize the production and distribution of food and fiber products. Initially, agricultural economics focused on land use and placed significant emphasis on increasing crop productivity while maintaining soil health. Nowadays, agricultural economics overlaps with traditional economics in several application areas.

Admission Requirements for Studying Agricultural Economics

To be eligible to study agricultural economics, candidates must meet certain admission requirements, which include:

  • Obtaining a minimum of five (5) “O” level credits in subjects such as English Language, biology or chemistry, and three or four additional courses, all achieved in no more than two sittings.
  • Meeting the minimum admission requirements of the chosen university or polytechnic. It is recommended to aim for a minimum JAMB score of 250 or higher, as this improves the chances of admission to the desired institution for studying agricultural economics.

O-Level Requirements

For individuals seeking to study agricultural economics, the following subjects are essential for O-Level certificates (e.g., WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB):

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Biology
